Sunday Bonus.

15 Apr

The amount of time I spend watching advertisements is unseemly. Peugot just released their second video as a part of a recent viral campaign. This is viral advertising done right. This sort of thing doesn’t always result in more sales, but hell does it get your name seen by a lot of people, as this surely will. I first saw the dancer in his routine for a remix of Pumped Up Kicks and must have hit the repeat button five times. If you recognize Nonstop, you already know you’re in for a treat.

The song is from a UK collective effort called Rudimental. I guess the group is made up of two songwriters and  a pair of DJ’s. With a soulful vocalist thrown into the mix, the result is amazing. I haven’t really had a chance to have a good listen to the rest of their work, but if you’re curious, you can find their SoundCloud page here. The track is set to be released May 28th, so you’ve still got time to ‘discover’ these guys before they’re popular, you music hipster, you.

Say hello to the next summer anthem,

Grant.

Jam To The Groove. #2

11 Apr

I have literally been staring at a computer screen for over twelve hours. Turning a matchbox into a Creepbook timeline is proving to be a tad bit more difficult than I had once imagined. For a typography class we are to create a sort of paper slinky that is fashioned to illustrate extensive research into a certain typeface or font. I figured, what better way to quickly tell you everything about someone than a Facebook page?

Smack dab in the middle of final assignment and exam period of the semester, it does get pretty hard to stay in high spirits with a mellow mood. If you’re a fellow student, you know exactly what I mean and I for one need something to keep me from losing all hope of survival. Throw on this mixtape and I promise you’ll be jammin’ again in no time. Lots of disco and electro vibes from artists that are well worth checking out on their own. Enjoy.

Well, Wikipedia maybe,

Grant.

Five for the feeling.

4 Apr

Let’s keep this short and sweet. If you’re a fellow student out there on the other side of that computer screen, you understand the feeling. Less than three weeks until we’re all home free to make questionable mistakes while basking in the sunshine. Since that day is increasingly closer with every sunset, these are a few of my absolute favourite Indie Rock jams that scream for summer.

Jam on,

Grant.
